Grow a Garden Mutation Calculator: Stack Multipliers Correctly

Calculate a crop’s mutation bracket from current values, apply one variant, compare the result with naive multiplication, and solve the unmutated value needed to reach a target.

Current-input tool · additive environmental bracket

Mutation multiplier and stack calculator

Enter the multiplier printed by your current source for each mutation. Variants multiply the environmental bracket; environmental mutations add their extra parts instead of multiplying one another.

Environmental mutations

Use one row per distinct mutation that remains on the crop.

Formula used: variant × [1 + Σ(environmental multiplier − 1)]. With 2 environmental mutations, this is also variant × [1 + 110 2].

This tool does not decide whether two named mutations can coexist, fuse, replace one another, or remain obtainable. Enter only distinct environmental mutations visible on the same current crop. The all-multiply result is shown for comparison, not as the recommended in-game method.

Variant layer

One multiplier wraps the bracket

None, Ripe, Silver, Gold, or Rainbow supplies the outer multiplier. Choose only the variant that is actually on the crop.

Environmental layer

Add extra parts, not full multipliers

A 100× environmental mutation contributes 99 extra parts, and a 10× mutation contributes 9. The bracket starts with one base part.

The calculator does not silently attach a new crop to a stale mutation database. Names and values remain editable.

Formula

How Grow a Garden mutation stacking is calculated

Mutation multiplier = Variant × [1 + Σ Environmental − Count]

The equivalent extra-parts form is Variant × [1 + Σ(Environmental multiplier − 1)]. Both expressions produce the same result. The calculator uses this community-documented price formula and shows the all-multiply result only to expose the size of a common mistake.

Mutation stack examples

These examples isolate the mutation multiplier. Apply the result to a correctly calculated unmutated crop value; do not treat the multiplier itself as a current market quote.

Rainbow + Wet50 × [1 + 2 − 1]100×

Method boundary

Arithmetic does not resolve mutation compatibility

Fused and evolving mutations can replace ingredients; some variants are mutually exclusive; and availability changes by update. Enter only distinct mutations that remain visible on the same crop. If a current game observation contradicts a public list, use the current observation and record the patch.

This page deliberately separates multiplier arithmetic from the dated crop database. Use the full crop calculator when you also need base weight, crop constant, and sell-price estimation.

Mutation calculator FAQ

Do Grow a Garden crop mutations multiply each other?

Environmental mutation multipliers are added through the extra-parts bracket: 1 + Σ(multiplier − 1). A separate crop variant such as Gold or Rainbow multiplies that bracket. Do not multiply every environmental mutation together.

What is the difference between a variant and a mutation?

The community formula treats None, Ripe, Silver, Gold, and Rainbow as the variant layer. Only one value is entered for that layer. Environmental mutations occupy the additive bracket and may be subject to fusion, replacement, or coexistence rules.

Why does the calculator ask me to enter mutation values?

Mutation lists change with game patches and public calculators frequently disagree. Current inputs let you use values visible in your game or a dated source without silently mixing them with an older preset database.

Is this the same as the pet mutation calculator?

No. This page calculates crop-value multipliers. Pet Mutation Machine odds, pet passive changes, and pet sell multipliers are separate mechanics.
